Our volunteer group of collegiate athletes and clinic is led by Isabella Slape, a collegiate softball player from El Paso, TX. While in high school, Isabella played for the Flores/Estrada El Paso Firecrackers and was recognized as a 1st Team 6A All-District third baseman and District 2-5A "Offensive Player of the Year". She graduated at the top of her class at Bel Air High School and went on to compete at the Division I level. Isabella was chosen to represent the USA Travel Softball Team, where she had the opportunity to travel and compete in Havana, Cuba, and she currently serves as the El Paso ambassador for ELLA. She is passionate about advocating for and empowering Latina athletes by giving them the resources and opportunities they need to thrive. Isabella recently finished her senior season at Monmouth University, where she earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work. She is currently in the transfer portal, looking for a new home to continue her athletic career at the graduate level and is eager to announce the blessing that has come her way. Isabella remains dedicated to her mission of giving back, building community, and leading with purpose—both on and off the field! 

Lucy is a former collegiate softball player who recently graduated from Colorado State University Pueblo, where she spent three years competing after transferring from Midland College. While in Pueblo, she was deeply involved in the community—volunteering with youth, mentoring small business owners, tutoring students, and advocating for female athletes through the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and Voice in Sport. Now coaching with the Slammers organization, Lucy is passionate about inspiring young athletes to lead both on and off the field. She’s excited to join the ELLA Foundation and Isabella this summer to promote inclusivity, empowerment, and the belief that sports have the power to bring people together and celebrate what makes each person unique.

Alexis is a former Division I collegiate athlete and recipient of the Most Valuable Athlete award at Monmouth University—a testament to her unwavering dedication, resilience, and leadership on and off the field. Now pursuing her Master’s in Athletic Training at Aurora University, Alexis continues to lead with passion, purpose, and pride. As a proud advocate for women and Latina athletes in softball, she is fiercely committed to building inclusive environments where every player feels seen, supported, and empowered. Through mentorship, leadership, and community engagement, Alexis is paving the way for the next generation to rise with strength, confidence, and the belief that they belong in every space they step into.

Jayla Cadena is a proud Cuban and Puerto Rican student-athlete entering her senior year at Monmouth University, where she is pursuing a degree in Health Science. A powerful presence both in the circle and at the plate, Jayla brings unmatched energy, discipline, and heart to every inning she plays. Her passion for the game is matched only by her dedication to lifting others—especially young athletes—through mentorship, encouragement, and unwavering support. Jayla believes in the strength of resilience and the power of representation. Her mission is clear: to inspire the next generation to rise with confidence, lead with purpose, and chase their dreams fearlessly—on the field, in the classroom, and in life.

Aylani Ottley is a graduate senior utility softball player from El Paso, Texas, whose journey reflects leadership, resilience, and hometown pride. A decorated athlete from Austin High School, she continued her academic and athletic career at Southern University, where she earned Female Student-Athlete of the Year in 2024, served as team captain, appeared on the SWAC Commissioner’s Honor Roll, and earned her bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. A proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., Aylani is equally committed off the field, using her platform of 54K+ TikTok followers to uplift young athletes and advocate for women in sports. In summer 2025, she entered the NCAA transfer portal and committed to the University of Texas at El Paso, returning home to finish her final season as a Miner! Aylani is ready to lead with purpose, inspire her community, and leave a lasting impact.

Emily is a passionate leader, former collegiate athlete, and rising force in the world of youth softball development.A standout pitcher and infielder, she spent five years competing at the collegiate level—first at Midland College in Texas, where she earned WJCAC All-Conference Pitcher honors in 2021-2022, and later at Western New Mexico University, where she completed her softball career and earned a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. Now retired from collegiate play, Emily has returned to her roots in southern Arizona with a mission: to uplift and empower the next generation of young athletes. From coach pitch to high school programs, she brings energy, mentorship, and a deep understanding of the game to every team she works with. Her growing passion for strength and conditioning has also made her a powerful advocate for how the weight room can transform both the body and mindset of an athlete. Emily is thrilled to join the ELLA Foundation team this year—ready to inspire, connect, and build confidence in young women through the sport that shaped her life. Her journey is a testament to purpose, perseverance, and the power of giving back.

Michelle is a proud Mexican-American collegiate softball player whose journey reflects grit, growth, and unstoppable determination. After two standout years at El Paso Community College—where she earned WJCAC All-Conference Honorable Mention honors both seasons and completed her associate’s degree in Multidisciplinary Studies. Michelle is taking the next powerful step in her journey. She will be continuing her academic and athletic career at the Division I level at Mississippi Valley State University, where she will study Criminal Justice. Shelly is known for her bold spirit and unapologetic authenticity, Shelly is a voice for visibility, representation, and empowerment. As a proud Latina athlete, she is passionate about breaking barriers and reminding the next generation of young players, especially Latinas—that they never have to shrink themselves to belong. On the field and in life, Michelle leads with courage, pride, and purpose. Her message is simple but powerful: live boldly, own your identity, and never stop chasing the life you dream of—fully and fearlessly.

Tori Owens is a powerhouse on and off the field—a proud psychology major and collegiate softball player who has competed at both Lubbock Christian University and Sul Ross State University. From being named the 2021–2022 Outstanding High School Player of the Year by the El Paso Men’s Fastpitch Hall of Fame Committee to battling it out in the 2023 NCAA Division II Regionals with LCU, Tori has made her mark with heart, hustle, and grit. Academically, she shines just as brightly—earning a spot on the Dean’s List for both Fall and Spring 2025 and being honored on the Lone Star Conference Commissioner’s Honor Roll. Tori is fired up about giving back to the sport that shaped her. With a passion for mentorship, teamwork, and building confidence through sport, she is committed to helping the next generation of athletes rise strong. Whether it’s offering guidance, sharing her journey, or simply showing up as proof that hard work pays off, Tori is here to uplift and empower. She can’t wait to help young players grow, not just as athletes, but as confident, fearless individuals ready to take on the world.
